Use this address to report a domain registered through CapraDomains being used for phishing, malware distribution, botnet command and control, pharming, spam, child sexual abuse material, or any other unlawful activity. Also use it for trademark and intellectual property complaints about a registered domain.
For anything else — billing questions, account access, technical problems — please use hello@capradomains.com or the support page, which will get to the right place faster.
A report we can act on without a follow-up gets acted on sooner. Please include the domain name in full, what the domain is being used for, and the evidence — URLs, message headers, timestamps with a timezone, and screenshots or log extracts where relevant. For trademark complaints, include the registration number and jurisdiction of the mark you hold. Tell us how you would like to be contacted about the outcome.
We acknowledge every report within one business day. We then assess it, which normally means contacting the registrant and asking them to respond — most reports are resolved this way, because most are a compromised site rather than a deliberately malicious one.
Where a domain is being used for phishing, malware, or anything presenting an immediate risk to people, we act first and ask afterwards: the domain is suspended while we investigate. We would rather briefly take down something legitimate than leave a phishing site collecting credentials while we deliberate.
Outcomes we can apply are: no action where the report is not substantiated; a request to the registrant to remove the offending content; suspension of the domain; and escalation to our upstream registrar or the relevant registry where the matter is outside what we can resolve. We will tell you which of these happened.
If your domain has been suspended following a report, write to the abuse address above. Suspension is not a judgement — if your site was compromised, tell us what you have fixed and we will restore it. Your right to transfer the domain to another registrar is unaffected by an abuse report, unless a registry or a court has ordered otherwise.
If you believe a report has not been handled properly, you may escalate to our upstream registrar, Openprovider, or to the registry operator for the relevant top-level domain. For gTLDs you may also contact ICANN Contractual Compliance at icann.org/compliance/complaint. We would rather you told us first, but nothing here removes that route.
Law enforcement and CERT requests should be sent to the abuse address with the subject line beginning LEA, and will be prioritised. Please include the authority making the request and a contact who can verify it. We disclose registrant data only where we are legally required to, and we log every such request.
Abuse reporting is not a route for commercial disputes or for pressuring a competitor. Reports we find to be knowingly false may be disregarded, and repeat submitters blocked.
